My name is Sue Johnson-Hewitt

Having had 2 close friends pass away I was approached by both families to be the celebrant for their funerals. It was a privilege and an honour to do this for my dear friends and of course their families. From that moment I felt an overwhelming passion to learn more about how to develop my skills to become a trusted and worthy celebrant as I truly feel this is the last gift you can give a loved one and it needs to be perfect and fitting for them.  I trained under Swan Ceremonies, my teacher being Reverend Jonathan Martin. The in-depth training took place over several months in which we covered every aspect of what is expected of a celebrant.

I pride myself on that fact that since I qualified as a celebrant I have had very positive feedback for each of the funerals I have delivered. I have also had the honour of being a wedding celebrant over the past few years and also conduct naming ceremonies. I can provide a bespoke and personal tribute for your loved one by writing a poem encompassing all the wonderful traits we have written for them in their eulogy if this is your wish.

For the past 28 years I have practiced as a reflexologist and shiatsu therapist. I also run regular workshops on life coaching, covering self-development courses and self-confidence. I run regular meditation groups as I feel it is so very important to take the time to relax and reflect in our busy day to day lives. I am comfortable with public speaking to large groups. I am used to speaking and gathering information from people as a therapist in a gentle way, which I think is so important in this job, especially as a funeral celebrant. When emotions are running high, I will guide you to ensure you cover everything needed so you are happy with your parting gift to your loved one. I have conducted weddings in the UK and abroad. Also I just love doing naming ceremonies with that special little person and sharing the special day with Mum and dad, bride and grooms.

I would be delighted if you would give me the opportunity to be able to work with you at this difficult time, and to have this opportunity to work together and help ease this process for you would be an honour.
